SB 10.53.2 — "The Supreme Lord said: Just as Rukmiṇī’s mind is fixed on Me, My mind is fixed on her. I can’t even sleep at night. [..]"
In the pastimes with Rukmini, Krishna enjoys to the extreme playing the part of the human being in so many different ways.
When the Brahmin, messenger of love, arrived with the letter from Rukmini, the Lord opens His heart confiding that He also has been thinking of Rukmini, because He - as said in the Bhagavad Gita - always reciprocates one's love. So, He did not wait, time was running out and Princess Rukmini was in great anguish, not seeing her messenger coming back. When finally Krishna arrives and as in a dream appears amidst all the proud kings as well as the one destined to be her bridegroom, all the agony of the past days disappears as she feels the touch of Krishna's hand securing her on His chariot.

Countless days of anguish,
will Krishna come?
a letter can not contain
the ocean of love,
but is barely a page
of this longing heart -
what will destiny bring?
lifeless
days
after moonless nights -
better to die!
The sole Owner of Her heart
in sleepless nights heard
the cry of her love,
of that far star,
for He said :
"I always reciprocate
everyone's love"
and leaping on a whitish mount
rode a racing cloud, 1
flew on parrot wings
on a ray of golden sunshine,
then veiled the other's minds
with a mystic fog,
and as a Magnificent Lion,
He stole the tender doe
from amidst the jackals,
with the strong arm
that holds up all worlds;
but
for her His touch
was a dream without end
as she felt the softness
of His lotus-like hand.
