THE HANDS OF RASARAJA

"Krishna's hand is capable of bestowing benedictions upon all kinds of men if they take to Krishna consciousness. If one wants material happiness ..he can derive that benediction from the hand of Krishna; if one wants liberation from the pangs of material existence, he can also get that benediction from the hand of Krishna and if one in pure transcendental love for Krishna wants personal association and the touch of His transcendental body, he can also gain that benediction from His hand." Inspired by Srila Prabhupada's 'Krishna Book'.

"And when I [Akrura] have fallen at His feet the almighty Lord will place His lotus hand upon my head. For those who seek shelter in Him because they are greatly disturbed by the swift, powerful serpent of time. that hand remove all fear."  Sri Brhad Bhagavatamrta Vol III txt 198

"So we [Gopis] have surrendered unto Your feet, knowing that Your lotus hand will surely fulfill our desires." Gopi Gita pg 64

When one has fear of loss
Your hand seems to take away,
when one is gripped by greed
Your hand seems not to give enough,
when one lives in forgetfulness
it seems to cause death,
but  unseen, Your hand
took Jambavan’s fears away,
returned jewels for fruits
and by killing gave eternal life.

The palm of Your hand
rests on Your devotees' heads,       (1)
and as fresh as a  Lotus petal
wiped the Gopis’  foreheads
after the dance of a  million nights;
the aguru fragrance of Your hands
never leaves the mind of Trivraka,
and the thought of their touch torments
the days of Radha.

By the shelter of Your left hand
You kept the promise to protect
 Your loved ones,
holding up with just one fingertip
the devoted Hill;
Your hand raised up Akrura

after a journey of longing
to see you,
at once the touch of your hand
You took away Rukmini's anguish,
and in token of loving friendship,
Your hand shook Brahma’s
as a reward for primordial tapasya.

When with both tears and smiles
Your love was
an ocean pouring from Your eyes,
confusing Uddhava - Your friend -
then You took his hands in Yours
 to feel the same relief
 You had imbued in
Your written words
to be taken to Vraja,
Your heart sealed with a tear
in the one letter
to be placed
in the hands of Radha.     (2)

2) Sri Garga Samhita 5.13.5 "There please give a letter to King Nanda. Place a second letter in Yasoda's hand.  Then, O friend, go to Radha's beautiful palace and give a         letter to Radha"
